An important part of the arts integration process is for students to demonstrate their learning of subject matter through artistic expression. At AFIA we want to provide opportunities for our students to share their learning with their families and the rest of our community. One way in which we do this is our bi-annual Celebration of Learning, where students showcase their project work in a variety of ways. During our Spring 2018 Celebration of Learning, 4th graders wrote and performed short monologues based on their research, 3rd graders reflected their learning in a dance with spoken word about animal adaptations they created through their work with a KC Young Audiences resident artist, and 2nd grade students worked in groups to develop movement based representations of the life cycle of plants.

We are always thrilled to share our learning with members of our community and during this Celebration of Learning Dr. Kia, from To Admin With Love, was able to join us. We were happy to welcome Dr. Kia to AFIA. Not only did Dr. Kia visit our school, she also took the time to share her experiences. See why Dr. Kia calls AFIA a “a dream for every child who colors outside of the lines. This is a school for smart and creative children” on her site, To Admin With Love.
