Happy Fall!

Just last week, Taylor Salle (1st grade teacher) captured this lovely photo of our fall trees…

And today, I noticed that nearly all of the leaves have dropped from the trees. Time moves quickly…

As our fall break quickly approaches,  we have a few announcements:

  • We are holding our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. See link or below for more info.
  • Enrollment is open for the 2018 – 2019 school year. Please let your friends and family know they can schedule a tour and enroll online via www.afiakc.org.
  • Check out our new video and share with your friends and family.
  • Please plan to join us on the evening of Tuesday, November 21 from 6:00-7:30PM for the Celebration of Learning. Dinner will be served.
  • Fall Break is November 22-24, 2017.
  • Please consider giving to the AFIA Thanksgiving Food Drive (info was sent home with your child and can be found below):

 

AFIA Thanksgiving Food Drive

November 13-17, 2017

Our school will collect canned goods and dry goods to donate so families in our community enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

In order to provide a balanced meal, we ask that each grade level contribute different items based on the following:

Students in. . . May bring. . .
PreK/Kindergarten Pie filling, pie crust or any pie related ingredients
First Grade Cornbread, rolls, or vegetable oil
Second Grade Green beans, Cream of Mushroom Soup or Onion Soup
Third Grade Cranberry Sauce
Fourth Grade Canned Yams
Fifth Grade Stuffing
Sixth Grade Potatoes (boxed or real) and Gravy

 

We are thankful everyday for our incredible students and families.  Thank you for giving what you can.
