Wednesday Weekly 9.5.18

“I was in the learning pit, but then my wise-leader brain took over and I told myself ‘I’ve got this.'”

-AFIA Second Grader (reflecting on his math pre-test)

‘The Learning Pit’ helps students understand that increased challenge leads to deep learning.  This visual helps to normalize and celebrate the productive struggle of learning.  You can learn more about The Learning Pit at our upcoming Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 28.  In the meantime, you might ask your scholar if they were “in the learning pit” each day and help children celebrate their perseverance and resiliency.
