Announcements:

  • We appreciate your patience and flexibility with bus routes this week.  Families with adjusted times were notified on Monday.  As a reminder, students arriving after 8:30AM must be signed into the front desk.
  • Construction work is starting on the playground!  We will host a family picnic in early October to celebrate this exciting AFIA addition.  If you are interested in serving on the planning committee for this event, please sign-up and a member of the Parent Advisory Committee will follow-up with you.
  • We look forward to seeing our parents at Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 27, from 6:00-7:30PM.  Curriculum Night will allow you to learn more about AFIA’s approach to teaching and learning. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other parents, gain a better understanding of our approach to learning, and enjoy some snacks! Topics that will be highlighted at Curriculum Night are:
    • The Learning Pit (Growth Mindset)
    • Project Approach
    • Reader’s Workshop
    • Home Learning (aka Homework)
  • Cooler weather is coming soon.  Please be sure to put your scholar’s name on the inside of jackets so lost items do not end up in the lost and found.
