Announcements:

  • It is great to see everyone at conferences this week.  We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and appreciate the time you spend collaborating with us.
  • Results from the 2018-2019 spring Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests are now available and will be distributed at family teacher conferences.  Please read this letter, which was distributed with individual student reports, outlining the many reasons we are celebrating AFIA’s academic achievements!   We know the growth we made would not be possible without the collective effort of our students, families and teachers.
  • We value your feedback and are administering a survey to inform our work as a school community. This survey was developed by the Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA) at the University of Missouri in collaboration with MO’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). You can take the survey while you are at conferences or when you receive the link via text/email blast. Students in grades 3–6 and faculty at AFIA will also take a survey to inform our ongoing efforts.   All responses will be treated anonymously. Our goal is over 60% participation.
  • Our Arts Integration Night is rescheduled for next Thursday, February 21, 2019, from 5:30-7:30PM.  We hope your family will join us and ask that you RSVP on our Facebook page event invitation so we have adequate snacks and materials.
  • CALENDAR CHANGE: Due to our recent snow days, we are making a change to the school calendar.  Please note that Friday, March 1, 2019, will now be a student attendance day.  This day was previously scheduled to be a professional development day.  With this change our last day of school is now scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2019.  Fingers crossed that spring weather is coming soon!
