Today we had a very special guest speaker at Academy for Integrated Arts!  Before Charles Harris was an NFL player, he was a graduate of Lincoln College Prep and the University of Missouri.  He shared words of wisdom with our third through sixth graders today about academic ownership as the doorway to opportunity.

In reflection, students had some important takeaways.  One sixth grader shared “What I learned from Charles Harris is that behind every door is always something waiting for you.  But in order to get through that door you have to have access.  Not only access, but obedience and education.”

Charles Harris greeted each student individually after speaking with them. One student said “I’m never washing my hands again.” He has many news fans at AFIA!

As a Mizzou alum, I was proud to wear black and gold today.

Charles Harris is a class-act.  Our AFIA community looks forward to following his very bright future!
