Sixth Grade Send-Off: At the end of each year we host a celebration to honor our sixth grade students as they wrap-up their time at AFIA. Join us for a virtual Sixth Grade Send-Off on Friday, May 22, at 3:15PM. Please see the invitation for details.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Thank you to everyone who has helped us celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week by decorating yard signs and sharing notes of appreciation. This is the last call for submitting a note of gratitude to your child’s teacher(s) as they will be shared with teachers at the end of the week. The message can be from your child or yourself. Thank you for helping us celebrate the hard work and dedication of our AFIA teachers!

Summer School & Remote Learning Survey: We want to check-in with families to gather feedback on your remote learning experience and also evaluate interest in a remote learning summer school program. Please complete this short survey as we value your insight.

Title I Annual Review Meeting RSVP: The purpose of this meeting is to seek involvement and input from adult members of AFIA’s community, including parents and guardians. During this meeting we’ll review student achievement data, gather feedback on school programming and discuss family engagement plans for the 2020-2021 school year. The meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, from 1-2:30PM. Please RSVP to receive the meeting link.

Project Time with Ms. Taylor: All students are invited to attend a virtual Project Time with Ms. Taylor at 1:30PM every day. Students recently learned about birds we might see in our yards this time of year and made bird feeders and birdhouses from recycled materials.

Census Information & Job Opportunity: As a reminder, please complete the 2020 census if you haven’t already. The 2020 Census count impacts federal funds that schools, such as AFIA, receive for programs and services that are critical for our school. You can now complete the Census online. Additionally, there are job opportunities available now to assist with the 2020 Census count.
