Announcements:

  • As a reminder, there is no school this Friday as this is a professional development day for staff. This weekend is also daylight savings. We know that springing forward can be hard on children’s sleep schedule. We appreciate all that you do to ensure that students come to school rested and ready to learn.
  • 2020-2021 Enrollment Deadline is this Friday. Please review this letter for specific details regarding enrollment. In order to maintain your child’s spot, enrollment must be completed by Friday, March 6. Contact Ms. Phoebe at (816) 444-1720 if you have questions.
  • Vision Screenings: Vision screenings through KidSight Vision will take place on Tuesday, March 24, for all students at AFIA.  If you do not want your student to be screened, please complete and return the form sent home with your student. This service is free to AFIA families.
  • Big Smiles Dentistry: Big Smiles mobile dentistry team will be at AFIA March 30, 31, and April 1. If your child has previously received services through Big Smiles, then no further action is needed.  If you would like dental services, please complete and return the application sent home with your student. Please contact Mrs. Miller if you have questions or did not receive an application.
  • Spring Break: There is no school the week of March 16-20, 2020.
  • Spring Fling Family Dance: Our annual Spring Fling is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, from 6-8PM. Students must be in the company of a parent or guardian.  Dress to impress and come ready to dance with Battery Tour.  Dinner is provided.
