Announcements:

  • Black History Month: We’re celebrating Black History Month in many ways, both inside and outside of the classroom. Many of our students attended a performance of Underground at the Kauffman Center. Next Tuesday, February 25,  AFIA will host Alvin Ailey dancers as they perform Setting the Stage, a performance that “provides insights into the history and legacies of African-American pioneers in minstrels, jazz dance, ballet, Afro-Caribbean – including Katherine Dunham and Alvin Ailey.”  Families can also enjoy a free performance of Setting the Stage at the Gem Theater on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 7-9PM.
  •  2020-2020 Enrollment for Returning Students: Information regarding enrollment for next school year was sent home with students yesterday. Please review this letter for specific details. In order to maintain your child’s spot, enrollment must be completed by Friday, March 6. Contact Ms. Phoebe at (816) 444-1720 if you have questions.
  • Spirit Wear Order: We’re placing a spirit wear order at the end of February. Students may wear school spirit wear shirts in lieu of uniform shirts. Order forms are available in the front office or online. Order forms and payment are due by Friday, February 28.
