Winter Break
There is no school Monday, December 19th – Tuesday, January 3rd. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Wednesday, January 4th. We hope all of you have a joyful break and are able to spend time with family and friends.
As a reminder, you can always find AFIA’s calendar here.
Winter Break Assistance
Please see this flier about some assistance being offered in our community over winter break including food and emergency shelter. And as always, if you are in need of resources, please reach out to our school social worker, Mrs. Daniels at jenessa.daniels@afiakc.org
After School Club’s Gallery Walk
Thank you to all of the after school club teachers, students and families who made our first round of after school clubs a success. The after school clubs were made possible through a grant from the Kauffman grant to support the implementation of AFIA’s equity work plan.
Pantry Distribution
AFIA’s next pantry distribution will be Thursday, January 12th. The RSVP form will open December 26th, and the deadline to submit the form will be January 2nd. You will receive a text blast when the RSVP form is open. You must fill out the RSVP form each month you would like to receive food.
ENROLLMENT
We are accepting applications for NEW STUDENTS ONLY for the 2023-2024 school year. More information on applying is here. If you have a student who will be four by August 2, 2023, you are eligible to apply for AFIA’s pre-kindergarten program. If you have friends or family who are new to AFIA, please encourage them to sign up for a tour.
